ugh!

I never thought that I would talk about this on the blog, but here I go...

Brad snores! Yes, for 3 days in a row, he has been snoring like crazy. He has always snored, but it has been pretty consistent lately. Brad, of course thinks it's hilarious... He has woken me up from my sleep numerous times every night and has scared Caylee with his high pitch snoring skills. I've been pinching his nose to stop it, but every time he stops, he starts snoring back up again. Is there a way to stop this without a surgery? Ahhhhhhhhhhh, what do I do?

Has he tried those strips that you put over the bridge of the nose? I've heard that they work really well.

So a friend of mine mentioned something with putting tennis balls in socks and somehow putting them behind you. Then it prevents him from sleeping on his back, b/c the tennis balls would wake you up. Some people I hear only snore on their backs. Good luck with that one!

Scott has a snoring problem really bad too. I made him to go the DR and he suggested a sleep test. Turns out Scott has Apnia and he uses a breathing machine when he sleeps. Takes care of the snoring. I get a better night sleep. :)Scott would wake up the kids down the hallway he was LOUD!

Here is link to a snore guard. http://www.puresleep.com/index.htm It's only $30 bucks might be worth it if it works.

I am with Susan on this one. I read on MSN once that a guy tried all different techniques and tools to stop his snoring. They tried everything from expensive medications and strips to the tennis abll in the sock. The husband and wife both said that the tennis ball in the sock was the winner. They just put a tennis ball in a sock and safety pinned it to the middle of the back of his t-shirt. It was uncomfortable to sleep on so he wouldn't roll on to his back. Thus, he did not snore.
Good luck

Tell him to wear a mouth gaurd. That's basically what the dentist gives people to wear to bed when they have snoring problems . They look ridiculous, but who cares what you look like when you're asleep, right? My mom wears a "professional" dentist one, & she's much better than she used to be.

Hey! I saw your blog off Susan's! I've had to deal with Andrew's snoring for years now..GRRRR. I can't stand it and he feels bad too. The tennis balls work except when Andrew subconsciously takes it off or moves it so he can sleep on his back. The one thing that has worked wonders (and what most doctors will tell you) is weight loss (f there is weight to be lost)! Andrew has lost 20 lbs and even that has done the trick. It doesn't take much.

My dad uses a machine at night, and it helps a lot. Are you losing a lot of sleep?
