Family Reunion 2008

Every year on Father's Day weekend, Brad and I go to his family reunion in Arizona. This year, we have Caylee, so we decided to fly instead of driving. Caylee went on her first plane ride and she actually did really well. I was worried that she would start crying, but she never did. We also rented a hotel with Brad's brother, Russell and his wife, Amber. It was nice because Caylee and her cousin, Alexis were able to hang out and take some cute pictures together. For the most part, the trip went well, but there were some ups and downs. We spent so much money on this trip!!! Every year, Brad looks forward to eating some soft serve vanilla ice cream. He had some again this year, but was a little bit disappointed that they ran out on the second night we were there. I should of taken a picture of Brad and his ice cream cones. It's funny to see him get them because he always swirls them like 8 inches high! Well, here are some pictures we took at the family reunion.

By the end of our trip, we were so exhausted. We were glad we made it home!

5 Weeks Old

Caylee is starting to smile a lot now. She is 5 weeks old here. She loves to stare at bright things. She is currently a little bit confused with day and night. We are trying to flip her schedule around so that we can get some sleep! We are almost there, but any suggestions? It's neat to see her grow. She has grown a lot. She still has some baby acne, but they are going away. She is now 7 weeks old today! We love her soooo much=)

Bath time!

Oh, my little sweet, Caylee... Look at her belly now! She has filled up a lot in the last few weeks and she is growing fast! I gave her a bath yesterday and she loves to to take one. She just hangs out and relaxes until she is all done.

I think giving her a bath is my favorite part of the day because she doesn't fuss or cry at all=)

Nap Time!

The other day, I found my two sweet babies taking a nap together. They looked so cute, I had to take a picture.
Later that day, Caylee's great Grandmother, Jae ( from my mom side) came up from San Diego to see Caylee for the first time.

































I wasn't blogging for a while, so I have some old stuff to blog about....So, my first Mother's Day was awesome! Brad woke up early to make me some breakfast before we went to church. I was impressed. He made some yummy waffles, eggs and bacon. Thanks, babe!
...and before I had Caylee, I had this urge to get everything done before she arrived. During my nesting phase, some of the things I did was I went grocery shopping almost everyday( literally) so that I didn't have to go for a while, and I made 1 year worth of strawberry freezer jam=) The jam is yummy and Brad loves to make PB&J with it. They came out really good!

Baby Blessing

Caylee was blessed this last Sunday in Fairview Ward in Bakersfield (our old ward). I was worried that she would start crying while she was getting blessed, but she did great! The chapel was filled with many of our friends and family, and it was really nice seeing people we haven't seen in a while. I meant to take a lot of pictures, but I wasn't thinking right. I had to dress her back into her dress and only took couple of pictures=(

After church, we had a BBQ gathering at Brad's parents' house. It was a lot of fun. Thank-you, Susan for your hard work in putting everything together. The meal was awesome and everything turned out great!

1 Month old

Caylee is 1 month old today! Brad and I have managed to survive with little sleep that we are able to get. She loves to breastfeed and sleep. She is beginning to be more alert of her surroundings and is starting to smile. She is just so precious and we are definitely enjoying her in our lives.


Yesterday, Caylee went into the Pediatrician's office for her 1 month checkup. She weighed 9lbs 2 oz, 20 1/2 inches long. I couldn't believe it! 3 1/2 weeks before that(new born checkup), she weighed 6lbs 11oz, 20 inches. She has grown so much!!!

Poor Caylee, she also got her first shot (Hepatitis B). Here she is before and after the shot...

She was fine and happy. Poor Caylee, she didn't know what was coming...














She cried really loud and got sooo red!!!

Delivery/First Week

For those who have not heard about my labor experience, let me tell ya how everything went...
I had a doctor's appointment on Tuesday, April 29th and the doctor told me that I had to go to the hospital then because I was leaking fluid. I was not ready at all, so I cried all the way home( to go get my hospital bag) and cried all the way to the hospital (I was so scared!!!!) When I got to the hospital around 1pm, I was admitted and was taken upstairs to get an IV in (for Patocin). The nurse was terrible!!! She missed like 4 times, leaving me a huge bruise. After a while, she finally was able to put it in. I was at 1 centimeter for the longest time. I ended up taking an epideral at 5:30am the next day (25 hours of labor!!!) at 5/6 cm dialated. My contractions were coming in closer and closer. To make this story short, when I wasfinally dialated to 10cm, I pushed and pushed for almost 2 hours=( I was so dehydrated too! They told me I couldn't have any water=( Sad to say, I caught a fever and my blood pressure went up and Caylee's heart rate went up. For that reason, my doc. did an episiotomy on me and she vaccumed her out. Despite what I had to go through, seeing Caylee for the first time, it was all worth it. We love her so much! I still find myself crying when I look at her. She was born on April 30, 2008 at 2:23pm, weighing 7lbs. 1 oz, 20 inches long. She is just so precious; we adore her so much!



My first week home from the hospital after having Caylee was not the greatest.. I had the baby blues, crying everyday and not eating or drinking very well. I was really upset the fact that I really didn't know what I was doing. My breast milk was not coming in until almost a week later, which made Caylee so hungry that I was so upset and stressed out. Thank goodness for my wonderful friend, Leslie who drove all the way down from Roseville to help me for 4 days! Thank you so much, Leslie! Brad and I would not have survived without your help!
